HoloYiff
HoloYiff enables you watch furries get it on, in real life! Place them anywhere you want in your environment and enjoy the show.
Before Trying
HoloYiff requires at least a fairly modern device with decent specs.
Android:
Minimum: Samsung Galaxy A52, which is a mid-range device released in 2020.
It also supports Depth API for ARCore, which is required for any Android phone.
Please check if your device supports Depth API: https://developers.google.com/ar/devices#google_play_devices
Google Chrome is recommended; other browsers may not work.
iOS:
Minimum: iPhone XR, released in 2018.
OS: iOS 17 is supported; lower versions may not work.
Safari is required.
Quest VR Headset:
Minimum: Meta Quest 2, released in 2020.
Features
Placing the hologram
The hologram can be placed where you point the camera, by simply tapping on the screen.
Tapping again will remove the hologram.
Switching the hologram
You can quickly switch between different holograms in the menu.
Adjusting the position
The position can be adjusted by pressing and holding on top of the spawn pad, placed at the base of the hologram.
To highlight all interactive elements, simply press and hold anywhere on the screen (except on the UI and any interactive element)
Adjusting the lighting
The lighting can be adjusted to fit your environment. The light indicator controls both the direction and ambience lighting applied to the hologram.
Revealing the expanded menu
The menu can be expanded by swiping upwards on the menu handle.
The expanded menu is very much work in progress, but currently it includes the credits for the current hologram.
The plan is to allow you to filter between holograms, creators and specific characters through this menu. It will also include a details page for individual creators and characters. This page will include social links as well as links to platforms such as Patreon, in case you want to support the original animator.
Hiding the UI
You can hide the UI by swiping downwards on the menu handle. This gives you a more immersive view of the hologram, which is especially useful for recording your own videos.
Currently the light indicator stays visible, even while the UI is hidden, but this will most likely be changed.
Place behind walls in VR
Specific to the VR version, you can place holograms behind walls.
I also implemented my own spatial audio solution, adjusting the sound direction and volume to account for the walls in your environment.
To take advantage of this feature, you will need to do a space setup in the Quest OS, including manually adjusting the walls for the most accurate results.
The Future of HoloYiff
Personally, I believe in the saying: "show, don't tell", so I will try to avoid making lofty promises. However, I do have strong core vision for the future of the project, something that is unlikely to change as this project develops. At the same time, I am creating HoloYiff for the community, so I want to leave room for everyone to help shape where HoloYiff is heading.
The core vision for the project is to become a hub for a vast amount of holographic content. Where animators can feature their work and give you the chance to experience them in new and unique ways. Not only that, but it also gives you the opportunity to get creative. All you have to do is simply record your screen, and you can essentially create your own furry porn. When shared online, it actively helps promote your favorite animators.
Also, I know that a common problem for upcoming animators is that their work gets buried by the countless number of posts on the platforms that they post on. Often requiring a substantial following before their work is properly seen by others. This can greatly discourage upcoming animators from continuing sharing their work. With HoloYiff's sole focus on animations, animators will no longer have to compete with countless number of posts. Their work will instead get exposed to a user base that loves animations, which can greatly motivate them to continue, which ultimately leads to more animations for everyone to enjoy.
Supporting the Project
Thank you for reading this!
This project is a labor of love, something I have poured a lot of time into. For the past 3 months alone, I have worked every single day, even up to 14 hours a day, just because I truly believe in this vision.
It has involved everything from the development of VolXSpace, the cross platform augmented reality platform which powers HoloYiff. Custom built tools that enable conversion from 2D to 3D. A completely custom compression method which enables high resolution content to be displayed on lower end devices, such as smartphones. The 2D to 3D conversions themselves. As well as all the videos and gifs I have been sharing, including recording and editing.
With that said, it would truly mean a lot if you're interested in supporting the project.
Even if you can't support the project monetarily, leaving a rating or a comment helps immensely.
Any Monitory support would go towards the following:
Reducing hosting fees
HoloYiff is free and will remain free, as long as it's feasible.
In order for this project to be able to support a growing library of content, the animations are hosted separately from the application itself. This results in additional hosting fees. The fees are based on the total size of the animations and the amount of traffic.
So, any support this project get would mean a lot, as it would reduce or even negate the impact of the hosting fees. This would make it possible to keep it free for everyone to enjoy.
Continued full time development
I want to keep being able to work on this full time. Continuing to pour in as much time as I can into the project.
This way I can bring you something truly unique faster.
Animations featuring your OCs, designed to take advantage of HoloYiff
I have many ideas for fun and unique ways to interact with the Holograms, and I bet you do too! However, some of these concepts will require custom made animations to be able to fully realize those ideas.
So additional support would make it possible to commission animations specifically designed around upcoming HoloYiff features.
If you have your own personal character, I want to give you the opportunity to have them be part of these commissions.
Sound and voice work for existing animations
I think we can all agree that great sound effects and well performed voice work makes a big difference for an animation.
With enough support, it would enable us to fund the work required to add sound and voice performance to many of the amazing animations that are currently missing sound.
Any sound edits would not just be available in the HoloYiff project, they would also be released as standalone animations for everyone to enjoy.
Supported Platforms
iPhone (iOS)
Due to WebXR not being supported on iOS, a 3rd party app, called Variant Launch AR, is needed. The app acts as a simple web browser with WebXR support built into it.
You can read more about Launch AR here: launch.variant3d.com
However, there is no need to install the Launch AR app from the appstore, you just need to open Safari and visit: volxspace.com/holoyiff. You will get the option to install it through the browser.
Also, don't use the QR code reader in the Launch AR app when attempting to scan the QR code on this page. You should use your regular phone camera instead.
Android
Android compatibility depend on if the device supports Depth API for ARCore.
See device list here: developers.google.om/ar/devices#google_play_devices
Meta Quest
Meta Quest 3 is officially supported. Additional standalone VR headsets that support augmented reality should also be supported but has not yet been tested.
Huge Thanks To the Animators
Finally, I want to take a moment thank the animators who have chosen to have their work featured in the app.
This project would simply not be possible without their amazing work.
You can check them all out in the app. If you like their work, I highly encourage you to give them a follow.
Please consider leaving a rating, all feedback is super appreciated!

I tried clicking on "Run Project", in which is opened a white screen with a preview of the animation and a button that says " open XR", but when I pressed it it didn't actually do anything and the info button in the top left corner just flashed red and the actual AR camera didn't open.
Running this on Chrome on a Google Pixel 8
Hey, Don't mean to sound rude, but can we get an APK download?
No worries, thanks for asking!
However, there is no APK, as this is developed to run in the browser.
This has a big advantage over an app, as it makes it cross platform, without the need for additional development to support multiple platforms. It's also what makes it possible to feature adult content on iOS, as apple does not allow porn apps in the app store.
With that said, I'm really interested in knowing why you would like an APK. Maybe there is some use case for it that I'm missing?
Why? I kinda dropped my phone in water a year ago and (from what I understand) the camera used for the AR bit of stuff doesn't work. Maybe that's not the case and maybe my phone just can't do the AR this is doing, or maybe it's my settings. I just know my phone boots it up and runs the animations and gives me the option to do the AR but won't let me.
Thank you for the explanation!
What phone are you using?
The support will depend on if your device supports Depth API in ARCore. You can check which devices supports it here:
ARCore supported devices | Google for Developers
In the future, I hope to be able to get some more older devices to test on, as I might be able to circumvent the need for Depth API.
I'm using a cricket dream 5G, it's kinda outdated which is why I think it's my phone more than anything.
Yep, it's most likely the case. It's not on the ARCore compatibility list and not on versus.com, which I use to compare specs for phones.
Wonderfully impressive project!
not a big deal, but on Android (Samsung Galaxy 21+) Google Chrome seems to be the only web application to work, with Opera GX and Firefox not being able to open the camera with permissions enabled, even after apps and phone was restarted.
Would this be a browser issue or is Holoyiff only running off Chrome at the moment?
Thank you so much, I'm really happy to hear you find it impressive!
Yes, it's most likely a browser issue, as not all browsers supports AR features. ARCore is maintained by Google, so any chromium based browser is likely to work. Such as Brave, which I just tried to make sure it's working.
With that said, it's great that you bring this up, as I should definitely add some kind of warning when an unsupported browser is used.
I couldn't make it work, but I still liked it.
Thank you! Though I wish you were able to try it.
What phone are you using?
I use the moto e40
Thanks for letting me know!
Unfortunately, that phone is not listed on the ARCore compatibility list. It's also unlikely to be powerful enough to be able to view this.
If you upgrade in the future, I'd love to hear what you think!
I just pushed an update that should improve compatibility for older devices. Please give it a try again and let me know if it fixed it.
will there be pico 4 support?
Thanks for asking. I would like to support pico 4, I just need to get one for testing.
word of advice, first thing you'd have to do is mod it to disable the sleep mode with advanced settings, its almost impossible to set up steamvr and pcvr otherwise
Thanks for the advice! I'll keep this in mind once I get my hands on one.
you're welcome... i went nuts trying to set it up
can we maybe get a downloaded version ? for me it dosnt open in ar even if i have variant. it sends me to volxspace.com/holoyiff but nothing really loads. my phone is an a50 os it "should" work but it dosnt
Thank you for asking. Just to make sure, are you referring to the Samsung Galaxy A50?
I'm sorry to tell you, but the A50 is missing support for Depth API in ARcore, which this currently depends on. Depth API is needed to gauge the distance from the device to the surface that the camera is pointed at.
You can see a list of the supported features based on device here:
ARCore supported devices | Google for Developers
Any device that supports Depth API should work, but I can't guarantee it, without testing the specific devices.
I will address this in the future by seeing if I can find an alternate approach or if I will need to add an error message, indicating that the device is not supported.
thank you for awnsering, can`t you use the ar app from samsung a50? its pre installed on my phone and works like a cheap vr knock off
What is the app called? I have been trying to look it up, but I can't seem to find a clear answer.
the app is called AR-ZONE. Here https://samsung-ar-zone.de.uptodown.com/android you can also just search ar- zone samsung
Thanks for the clarification!
Unfortunately, AR-ZONE does not appear to be a platform for developers.
I searched for the following:
"developing content for samsung ar-zone"
"custom content for samsung ar-zone"
"samsung ar-zone sdk"
"adding your own animations to samsung ar-zone"
And nothing relevant came up. The only search results I got was related to customizing the emoji character.
hmm whenever I scan the qr with variant launch nothing happens or it says it must be a variant or launch code
Thank you for letting me know about this!
You're supposed to use the regular phone camera to scan the code. It should then open the correct page in Safari. There you will have the option to open with launch AR. Since you have Launch AR installed, you should see an open button in the top right after a brief loading.
It makes perfect sense that you would attempt to use the app itself to scan the code, so I will update the information to make this more clear.
it seems like when I scan the qr code with my phone it sends me to an empty white page with an info button called voxl but there is no launch with AR button is it possible im using an outdated iOS version?
If you check the url, does it end with "/holoyiff"?
If it does, then everything is good so far. However, if you don't see a button at all, not even a button that says View in AR. Then it would indicate that there is some kind of error, that prevents everything else from loading.
Which iPhone model are you using?
Personally I have been using the iPhone SE Gen 3.
The url does end with “/holoyiff” but its a white screen, im using iPhone 7 Plus, on my computer the site does load but since its a computer I assume theres no camera options.
Thank you for the information. Unfortunately it's likely that the iPhone 7 is too old to support this. But I will try to confirm if this is the case, or if it's just a matter of fixing a bug related to older iPhones.
I want to try to figure out which iPhones models are supported, but has not been able to so far. So it's really appreciated that you reported this.
Hey 2077 called, wanted their technologies back
😆 I would love to add some cyberpunk inspired stuff, would be so fitting
how do i get this to run in vr? every time i try to connect it just place down a screen like i am looking at my desktop in vr
Which VR headset are you using?
If you're using the Quest, ideally Quest 3 or Pro, you should be able to play it straight through the browser, no download required.
I've played this in VR and there's so much potential here. If this keeps going, it'll end up being very popular in my opinion.
Thank you so much, I'm happy to hear that you see the potential in it!
I'll do my best to keep adding animations to it, and I'm really looking forward to be able to on-board even more animators.
On one side i don’t to download that!
On the other side I. REEEEEEAALLLLYYYYY WANT! To download That.
It's funny, I'm not sure how you would download it. But somehow it has gotten a few downloads so far, even though it's just browser based. No clue how that works 😅
I just assumed you will make an app later
Ah, got it!
We'll see if there will be a need for one, in case I need squeeze out more performance
It really does have a great potential but plz more male x male animations
Thank you, I'm glad you think so!
I'm more than happy to add more male on male animations. Just let me know if you have any favorite animator and I can try to reach out to them.
what the fuck did I just find?
😂 I'll take that as a compliment
Interesting
I'm trying to create something unique, so I'm happy to hear you find it interesting! 😄
well out of many furry games that I've read/played
You're the only one that I know with this concept
So congratulations
Thank you so much!
It's been quite a challenge trying to figure out how to make the 2D to 3D conversions look decent. I still got ways to go for the quality, but I'm happy I have been able to take it this far.
